Steve Cizik is an experienced Colorado attorney who serves as a Partner in The Harris Law Firm’s Tax Division, where he helms our tax law practice and assists our clients and attorneys in a range of tax-related matters.

A graduate of Syracuse University College of Law and UC Boulder, Steve is an accomplished trial lawyer and one of the region’s most respected tax attorneys. Over the course of his nearly 20 years in practice, he has cultivated a reputation for his extensive knowledge, negotiation skills, and ability to uncover precise and practical solutions for clients. His track record includes, in addition to years of corporate litigation experience and intensive tax law representation, successfully representing hundreds of businesses and individuals in complex tax cases, litigating high-stakes matters on behalf of Fortune 100 clients against large Denver and national firms, and saving his clients millions of dollars in tax liabilities.

Prior to joining The Harris Law Firm, Steve was Founder and Managing Attorney of a successful tax law firm in Westminster, Colorado, where he represented nationwide businesses and individuals with complex tax concerns exceeding the scope of general practitioners. Along with his previous experience as a Tax Attorney for other Colorado firms, his years of hands-on practice have allowed him to accumulate a wealth of knowledge in matters ranging from proactive tax planning, company startup, and entity restructuring to corporate officer and successor entity representation, forensic accounting and expert witness testimony, and IRS collections and audits.

With decades of experience and an extensive background in tax and finance, Steve brings invaluable experience on our most complex and consequential cases. In addition to handling tax matters for businesses and individuals on a proactive and reactive basis, he is also routinely called upon to assist our clients and attorneys with tax-related issues arising from divorce and estate planning cases, including those involving high-net-worth divorce, large estates, and complex asset and debt division.
