Ally Herr is an attorney at The Harris Law Firm who focuses her practice on estate planning and probate matters. She is especially passionate about helping young families create thoughtful estate plans, including planning for guardianship of their children. Ally works with a wide range of clients, from young couples and single individuals to blended families and high-net-worth clients, guiding them through important decisions with care. She also has experience in guardianship and conservatorship matters, prenuptial agreements, business operating agreements, and certain parts of family law that overlap with estate planning.
Ally’s path to law began with her work alongside refugees and immigrants, which sparked her desire to pursue a career centered on helping others. During law school, an internship in estate planning confirmed that she had found the right fit. She valued the opportunity to sit down with clients, hear their stories, and help them navigate sensitive and often emotional conversations about the future. She was drawn to the legal profession not only by a desire to serve others, but also by her love of reading, analyzing documents, and thinking through complex problems to find practical solutions.
A Colorado native, Ally grew up in Centennial and attended Arapahoe High School. She earned both her undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from the University of Denver and is currently pursuing her Tax LL.M. through DU. She is admitted to the Colorado Bar.
Ally is known for being personable, organized, and dependable. Her attention to detail and initiative help her efficiently handle cases of all sorts. In estate planning, where conversations often involve deeply personal topics, her approachable demeanor helps clients feel comfortable and supported because she always begins by sincerely listening to each client and their goals. She knows that responsiveness, organization, and genuine care help clients feel respected and confident in the planning process.
Outside of work, Ally enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband, their young son, Dawson, and their dog, Frankie. She is currently looking into volunteer work with ‘Knock Knock Angels,’ a non-profit group that helps military veterans get fresh starts.
