    Jessica Jefferson is an Enrolled Agent in the Tax Division of The Harris Law Firm, bringing 11 years of hands-on experience in personal and business tax resolution. Credentialed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, she is authorized to represent taxpayers directly before the IRS, a distinction that makes her an exceptionally valuable partner for individuals and businesses navigating tax debt, disputes, and resolution. Over the course of her career, she has worked on cases ranging from a few thousand dollars to several million, often helping clients reduce or eliminate the penalties and interest that accumulate alongside their underlying tax obligations. Unlike credentials issued at the state level, the Enrolled Agent designation authorizes its holder to represent taxpayers before the IRS in all matters, including audits, collections, and appeals. Having an Enrolled Agent on staff means our firm is equipped to engage directly with the IRS on a client's behalf, providing a level of advocacy and representation that goes well beyond general tax guidance.

She has always been drawn to problem-solving, but what set the tax field apart for her was something specific: the knowledge that a proven, workable process exists to help people in financial distress. She spent years building her experience as a tax professional before earning her Enrolled Agent credential, and that progression from assistant to licensed representative reflects the depth of knowledge and know-how she brings to her clients today.

    Jessica's approach to client work begins with getting to know the person behind the case. She understands that most clients who come to her are going through a difficult time, and she takes seriously the responsibility of helping them feel assured, cared for, and comfortable enough to have honest conversations about their financial situations. Her goal is for clients to feel confident that their tax matter is being handled, so they can redirect their attention to their families, business, and other parts of their lives. When a case reaches a positive resolution, such as when a client's tax burden is lifted and their worries are behind them, that outcome is what she finds most meaningful about her work.

    Outside the office, Jessica brings the same sense of curiosity and adventure to her personal life that she does to her professional one. From 2022 to 2023, she took a year away from work to travel the world, visiting more than thirteen countries across South America, Central America, Europe, and Asia. Back in Colorado, she loves exploring the state's many mountain towns, catching live music, and spending time with friends, family, and her two cats.
