    Katie Kendrick

    Katie Kendrick is a family law attorney of The Harris Law Firm who focuses on divorce, child custody, and post-decree modifications, as well as guardianship and adoption cases. She is especially passionate about cases involving children and believes they should remain at the center of every legal decision that affects them.

    Katie’s legal career has evolved through several areas of practice before ultimately finding her place in family law. She initially pursued environmental and natural resource law, earning a certificate in the field from Lewis & Clark Law School, and gained experience in areas such as class action antitrust and securities law. Over time, though, she was drawn to the more personal and impactful nature of family law, where she could work directly with clients and their families during pivotal moments in their lives. She values the relationships she builds with clients and the opportunity to help make difficult situations more manageable.

    She earned her undergraduate degree from Carleton College and her J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon. Katie is licensed to practice in Colorado, where she has been active since 2013, and is also licensed in Minnesota. Although originally from Claremont, California, she has long-standing ties to Colorado, having spent summers in the Denver area visiting family.

    Katie is known for her organization, attention to detail, and approachable demeanor. She manages complex cases with care and always checks that important details are not overlooked and that client questions are addressed thoroughly. Clients often appreciate her accessibility and responsiveness, as well as her ability to reduce stress by providing guidance and clear communication. She also values collaboration with colleagues, recognizing that sharing knowledge and perspective is often necessary to prepare the strongest case possible for clients.

    In her client work, Katie prioritizes empathy, connection, and clarity. She takes time to understand each client’s concerns and takes them to heart. By maintaining consistent communication and paying attention to personal details, she helps clients feel supported and confident as their cases move forward.

    Outside of her practice, Katie enjoys traveling, reading, and baking, and has received awards for her baking at several state and county fairs. She is active in her community through volunteer work and serves on the board of Colorado Lawyer Magazine. Katie and her husband, who is also an attorney, have two children and a cat named Bella.
