Uncontested Divorce Representation for Denver Couples
When both spouses agree on how to move forward, an uncontested divorce can offer a less adversarial path to dissolving a marriage. But the decisions you make are legally binding, and the paperwork filed with Denver District Court must be accurate and complete. Since 1993, The Harris Law Firm has helped thousands of Colorado families through divorce, bringing more than 250 years of combined attorney experience to every case.
We’re one of Colorado’s largest dedicated family law firms, with offices in Denver, Englewood, Boulder, and Colorado Springs. We offer bilingual legal services in English and Spanish, and consultations are confidential.
Ready to move forward? Call us at (303) 622-5502 to schedule a confidential consultation. We can help you understand your options and what a guided uncontested divorce process looks like with The Harris Law Firm on your side.
What Sets The Harris Law Firm Apart for Uncontested Divorce in Denver
Smaller firms and online document services often treat an uncontested divorce as a simple transaction. It isn’t. A separation agreement that leaves out an asset, a parenting plan that doesn’t hold up to scrutiny, or a filing error that stalls your case can turn an agreed-upon process into an expensive correction. Our attorneys have handled virtually every variation of Colorado family law over three decades, so we know where agreements may break down before they do.
Our recognition reflects that depth. The Harris Law Firm has consistently earned the Colorado Metropolitan Tier 1 ranking in Family Law from U.S. News Best Law Firms, a designation based on reviews of more than 13,000 law firms nationwide. The Colorado Lawyers Committee named us Law Firm of the Year in both 2021 and 2024 for pro bono service and commitment to systemic justice. Individual attorneys have been recognized by Super Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America, and the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys, including Managing Partner Richard Harris, who founded the firm in 1993.
Our billing is transparent. We don’t charge clients for administrative duties, and our pricing is competitive and fair. Many clients come to us after working with other firms that didn’t meet their needs. We hear it often enough that it’s shaped how we operate.
What We Help You Resolve in an Uncontested Divorce
An uncontested divorce requires both spouses to reach full agreement on every issue before the court can finalize the dissolution. That typically includes division of marital property and debts, spousal maintenance, and, if children are involved, the allocation of parental responsibilities, parenting time, and child support. Each issue needs to be documented correctly in a legally binding separation agreement and, where applicable, a parenting plan.
Both spouses must also file sworn financial disclosures covering income, assets, expenditures, and debts. If minor children are involved, Colorado courts may require both parents to complete a state-mandated parenting class before the divorce is finalized.
Our team handles all of this under one roof: divorce, custody, support, mediation, and more. If circumstances shift and an uncontested case becomes contested, we manage the transition. You won’t need to start over with new attorneys or bring someone new up to speed on your situation.
